Welcome! My name is Sam Russell and this is my blog! SPAM is a childhood school nickname I earned by being given a name that was one consonant short, and since I find the idea of growing up a little repugnant, I've kept it.
"But why in the hell does this guy have a blog?" you ask... because blogs are just so damn cool.
I am a retired Aerospace Engineer (is six years in industry to soon to call it retirement?) looking to do something more fun, more popular, and a little bit less "blow-people-uppy" by diving into the industry of Video Game Engineering. And, since I don't like to do things half way, I ignored my mortgage, quit my job, and went back to school to earn my Master's degree in the field from the #1 ranked program in the nation at the University of Utah.
I'm an aspiring developer and this blog is about my journey from airplane nerd to computer geek and whatever abominable pupal stages I go through along the way.
